The Packaging Details of The Granite Sink That You Need to Know

Package

Table of Contents

The package of a product is the starting point of logistics and plays a vital role in logistics. Choosing the appropriate packaging can protect product safety and facilitate transportation, loading and unloading, and saving costs.

We need to pay attention to the package according to the characteristics of the product. The granite composite sink is a heavy item and easy to crack during transportation if improper handling.

This article will show you how to choose suitable packaging materials and adopt appropriate packaging methods and measures.

Selected cardboard boxes with suitable thickness

One of our Australian customers required the cardboard box with a specified “k=k “to strengthen the outer carton.

k=k means that the paper quality of corrugated boxes requires K grade paper to be produced, and the classification of paper grade is K A B C. The most commonly used is B=B; A=A is only used for special requirements; K=K is the top grade and is the most durable.

A cardboard box is basically made up of a flute (made up of recycled paper), sandwiched between two liners. When manufacturing boxes, we talk about two different types of liners. This is the material that lies on top and beneath the fluting and creates a corrugated board. Typically, cardboard boxes have a test paper inner liner and a Kraft paper outer. The color and texture of various papers are different, and the papers produced by different manufacturers vary.

Use the foam lining and bubble wrap to protect the sink corner.

Foam lining

A good product needs well packaging. A standard package of Chica granite sink uses foam lining to protect the sink inside the box. If necessary, we also use shock-proof bubble film or wooden frame to protect the sink in all-round.

Packaging

The foam lining we used is called EPS foam. It’s the abbreviation of expandable polyethylene board. Expanded Polystyrene insulation is a lightweight, rigid, closed-cell insulation. EPS is available in several compressive strengths to withstand load and back-fill forces. This closed-cell structure provides minimal water absorption and low vapor permanence.

Bubble wrap

Bubble wrap is a pliable transparent plastic material used for packing fragile items. Regularly spaced, protruding air-filled hemispheres (bubbles) provide cushioning for fragile items.

It is a new type of plastic packaging material with a light texture, good transparency, non-toxic and lead-free, excellent insulator against impacts.

Add a wooden case to protect the whole sink.

Add a wooden case additionally to secure the package. This is not a conventional packaging method, but it is the safest.

To reduce the freight cost, we choose a lightweight wood material. Lighter pine wood is the best choice.

We usually use this packaging method to send the granite sink sample. A single sink is easier to crack or broken when shipping by courier.

There is no doubt that this packaging is the most expensive, but we need to take these measures to transport the sink safely to our customers and make sure it doesn’t undergo any damage.

Conclusion

The packaging of the granite composite sink is crucial as it helps in eliminating damage during shipment. We need to pack the sink properly to ensure that it reaches the customer unharmed.
